Join the crowdfunding for "Forever Hic", my next short film

Hi Reader,

I’m working on a project that’s really close to my heart: my next short film, “Forever Hic.”

I feel the urgency to tell a story that touches something we all experience: co-dependency, toxic relationships, and that inner struggle between being stuck in the past or taking the leap into a new beginning. Yes, I know, we’ve all been there.

Matt, the protagonist, is faced with choosing between the past and a fresh start with his girlfriend Ginevra. Locked out of his house and tormented by an absurd hiccup, his night becomes a surreal journey that forces him to reflect on his life choices and the relationships that are holding him back.

Why am I asking for your support?

It’s an opportunity to create something authentic and fresh in the Italian film landscape, but to make it happen, I need your support (yes, I’m asking for money, but with style!).

Since January, I’ve been fully immersed in this project, pouring my heart and soul into it. But a part of the budget is still missing (surprise, right?!). We already have an amazing cast and crew, but we need just a little extra to close the gap and start shooting in November.

That’s why, together with Studio x01, Borotalco – the production company supporting me – and Perimetro, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign.

With your help, we can make 'Forever Hic' a reality and bring this story to the screen. You can find all the details (and rewards for those who choose to support us) on our crowdfunding page.

Crew, casting, and location

I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some incredible professionals. Francesca Nozzolillo co-wrote the screenplay with me, bringing authenticity and a fresh perspective to the story. Edoardo Bolli will be behind the camera, with his unconventional vision. And then there are the actors, unique faces who will truly bring the characters to life.

And of course, there’s Milan, with its complex and ever-evolving charm, making it the perfect backdrop for a story about personal transformation.

We need new voices

"Forever Hic" aims to break away from the commercial cinema mold, offering a unique story that explores new territory. Italian cinema needs fresh voices, and with your help, we can bring a project to life that truly wants to make a difference.

If you can’t contribute financially, you can still support us by sharing the campaign with your contacts or on social media.

Thank you for your support, it would be amazing to have you on board!

Marco

AIDA: let's talk about the future I spent a year alongside a group of young researchers from Politecnico di Milano who are developing and testing autonomous vehicles. From this experience, AIDA was born—a 55-minute documentary I wrote and directed, which I’ve just presented at the Royal Palace of Caserta. And I’m really happy to share the trailer with you, as a preview. When they asked me to tell their story, I was instantly intrigued. I thought: why aren’t these cars already driving through...

How to use AI without losing your soul As the world fills up with AI-generated everything, I’ve spent the winter on stage and with a pen in hand. Why? I use AI too. I’m using it right now to reflect and structure these ideas. But I use it as an accelerator, not as a creator. It’s time to stop feeling guilty about it and start thinking more critically about how we integrate AI into our creativity. What does it mean to find your own voice in an era where AI can write for you, generate images,...

When East Meets West Trieste, January. I’m sitting in a café just a few steps from the Hotel Savoia, where When East Meets West—one of the most important co-production forums in Europe—is taking place. Outside, the Bora wind blows, that icy gust sweeping down from the Balkans. In front of me, a capo in B (a macchiato served in a glass) and a producer. We’re talking about the short film I want to shoot with my daughter. I pitch it to him, and I see his eyes light up; I can feel that this film...
